Storm Corps

>>Technology:

Greater Lightning Cruiser

Largest and, oddly enough, quickest of the latest generation of Earth Storm Corps' ships. It is the backbone of the fleet. There are many different classes in the G-Lightning series, many of which have been customized to it's crew.

G-Lightning cruisers are easily recognized by their enormous, blimp-like forms, protruding bolt shaped spires along the sides, and their trademark "airstrips" atop the hull. Depending on class type, the airstrips can be open air or closed roof design.

Only 10-20% of the ship is available for it's crew, the remainder of which is used for storing power collected from raw lightning strikes. Stored energy can be fed to other weatherships, power stations or used to power the ship itself.

Details on named ships and crew from the comic appear below:

SCS Terra Thunder

Terra Thunder team is one of two remaining teams still in operation from the pre-Storm Corps fleets of Rylante. The original Weather-One class Terra Thunder was one of the many ships lost while protecting the continent of Rytatz, during the Geddonn Hurricane crisis on Rylante.

The surviving crew were transferred to Earth when the Storm Corps was founded. Their many merits and acclaimed heroism in the charged storm battles across Rylante were unknown to Earth. As such, many of Terra Thunder's skilled crewmembers were re-assigned across multiple new teams. (Including May, her veteran storm lancer skills being among the most wanted. She has refused every re-assignment, threatening with early retirement otherwise.)

The crew count continues to dwindle and is now on the verge of being disbanded. Terra Thunder itself runs almost entirely on automated systems due to lack of crew. This has come at a cost as it now must return to it's home port, Eisenhower Station, for frequent maintenance.

SCS Aftershock

Recent acts of piracy aboard Earth weatherships have led to an experiment with Sky Command dealing with an armed military grade weathership. In addition to weathership abilities, the Zeus class Aftershock is equipped with 6 Red Comet cannons, Excalibore Torpedo systems, point-blank RadiaBrunt lasers, and a modified starship level shield array.

The Aftershock is currently without an assigned crew. The ship was unfortunately hijacked by the very forces it was built to defend against. It's final construction phase remains incomplete.
