Rylantian Lifters are standard heavy-duty work bots commonly found on
planet Rylante. To fill a spot as a much needed crewman in the wake
of the gateway disaster, Hippo had been heavily modified by May, Rick
Jayston, and the people who would later become the founding members
of Terra Thunder team.
The custom ship AI (Type A) of
Disaster's Blade (a Rylantian privateer vessel destroyed in
the supercharged storms) was installed into this unit, and an
unusual animatronic head replaced this rylantian lifter's generic
bucket-style head.
During the time he has served with
the Storm Corps, Hippo has received many modifications, up to the point
where his overall frame no longer resembles his original rylantian lifter
body. Hippo is currently in his ninth generation form.
Roughly a year before Chapter 1 began,
Hippo left Terra Thunder team with a number of other crewmembers. His
whereabouts were unknown until his re-appearance with Rick Jayston during
the Aftershock incident.
